After a few weeks during which a consultation process took place involving the consortium members and the scientific consultants, the first workshop of the MONICET project took place today. The scientific teams of the consortium members worked with elements from CIRN and (by videoconference) with two of the consultants, Profs. Peter Evans and Jonathan Gordon, to validate the metodology to record sightings at sea.

The methodology was considered globaly adequate. The few adjustements that need to be  made will not affect the ongoing process of data collection.

The workshop was also the moment to analyse other areas of the work plan, namely the methodologies for recording  sightings from land, the possibility of further detailing the vessel's course and the ways of incorporating photoidentification.
